O.P. custom emoticons can't be disabled
I just added a little nephew of mine to my list, and he immediately started to show all of his custom smilies...

All those ugly flashing-all-over-my-screen smilies....
so I decided I wanted to disable custom smilies, and that I just wanted to see the standard MSN messenger smilies, no more, no less...

And I noticed I couldn't get it to work... I disabled 'Show custom smilies' at 'tools>options>messages' (3rd tab, don't know exactly, I'm using dutch messenger)
And when I shutdown MSGPlus it works fine... but somehow, when I start MSGPlus, and this kiddo throws another smilie at me, this option is enabled again, and the smilie IS shown....

how on earth can I disable it without disabling MSGplus :P

and offcourse I'm using all the latest software :]]

Hi R0berto[], MsgPlus shouldn't affect your custom emoticons. Do you manually sign off Messenger, or do you just exit the program/log off the computer? If you don't sign out, the next time you sign in you may find  that any changes to your settings may not have been saved.
Try disabling the custom smilies again, and see if it works :)

@multimillion2k: well, it has happened during 1 session, so I changed the settings, and a few second later, as I was testing it, it just showed the smilie..

@mwe99: no, no beta's.. beta software isn't really software ;) it's more like wannabee software..
so I'm using MSN Messenger 7.0.0816 and MSGPlus 3.54.132...

RE: custom emoticons can't be disabled
Awhile back there was a bug with Messenger Plus! that would for some reason cause MSN Messenger to end prematurly (as it seems) thus settings were not being saved and upon reopening of MSN Messenger they were set to their previous values.

I will email Patchou or just talk to him online when I seem him next and let him know. But for now on to testing and making garlic bread... yummmm!

Edit: To temporarily fix this do the following.

--> Exit MSN Messenger
--> Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
   --> End the MsgPlus.exe process
--> Restart MSN Messenger and disable the setting.
--> Click on Start > Run > copy and paste the following:

code:
%programfiles%\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe
The above is assuming Plus! was installed into it's default location.
