Is audio out of sync when you watch it via BSPlayer or any other player? Have you tryed to finish it? I mean, Is the result same, as preview? And also, which codecs you use?

i used no codec (raw avi), Divx 5 and Divx MPEG-4

I always ran into trouble with virtualdub when the audio was VBR - Go to Audio -> Interleaving -> Audio skew correction and mess around with values (usually anywhere between 350-1500) and see if it changes anything.

I would guess that you have a corrupt frame in your movie - what happens is that basically all the frames after that are also read as corrupt until the next keyframe.
If this is the case you'll have to repair all the errors first, you can find heaps of guides/tutorials at
http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/
http://divxstation.com/articles.asp
http://www.divx-digest.com/index.html
http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/

It can be really frustrating though - do you need to add the subtitles? You can always use VSFilter, much less hassle :)

I won't go into an explanation of VBR (variable bit rate, as opposed to CBR - constant bit rate), although it could be an issue it doesn't seem like that is the case here - it doesn't explain the video pausing..

Did you try VSFilter? If you haven't yet, I suggest you give it a go first - download it, copy VSFilter into your \windows\system32 folder, and then Start -> Run -> 'regsvr32 vsfilter.dll' (without quotes)
If you have a subtitles file, it will automatically run with the movie, you don't need to re-encode anything - just make sure it is in the same location and has that same name as the movie
ie Ong_bak_coolmovie.avi and Ong_bak_coolmovie.sub (.srt/.txt/etc)

Edit: When you said the audio is bad after adding the subtitles, ddoes that mean when you encode without the subtitles everything is fine? Or do you still have the same problem? I still suggest trying VSFilter first.

This has already been asked not so long ago (if I'm not mistaken also by you).... The only difference is your current questioning.

And that previous thread was closed/pruned/whatever because you asked for assistance in illegal stuff....

If you want decent subtitles, go to the box office and buy the dvd instead of downloading an illegal version and adding subtitles to it or whatever you're doing...

It is also against the rules to try and ask for such things again if you are already been told not to do it.
