I will open up my case sometime soon, and if it is too dusty, I will try my best to clean it, I don't think this is an issue, the fans are quiet and seem fine... I don't think it's the temperature that's the problem...

Also check your RAM, it might have some issues, it could be maifunctioning, which would need you would need a new RAM Stick.

I have 512Mb RAM and it's running quite low at around 200Mb, so that is cool. I am getting another RAM stick soon, so that it runs duel at 1Gb...

2) AV & Anti spyware scan
3) Rt click on my computer, properties and see the ram. Is it still the same ?? If not then turn off the pc, remove the ram and clean the contact surface at the bottom. (Assuming u know how to remove the ram of the motherboard; else dont touch it. Mine has a simple lock. I press it and the ram pops out .... literally :P)

Just clean that golden part at the bottom that goes in with a clean dry cloth. I was told that an eraser is awesome .... it worked for me. And then connect the ram and it should be ok again ;)

I can't access ctrl+alt+del when it's crashed, but yeah, it all seems okay, how it usually is, I have ran several virus checks, and there are no viruses...

I will clean the RAM later on tonight, along with my computer.

That's either bad RAM or overheating.

If you ever overclocked a part of your system, and I would think the processer if it's crashing like that, you should just get it back to default speeds from BIOS.  (If you know how to overclock, you'll now how to get there.)

Or, it could be RAM issues, either corrupted RAM or misplaced, if you are having problems with RAM, and if lately your computer has been moved, which could cause the RAM sticks not to be well attahed, it may cause that.  If it didn't, try downloading "MemTest86", put it on a Floppy disk, and boot from it. (Make sure the Floppy disk boots before HDD).

Tell us if you get any errors.

I haven't overclocked my processor ever, so that's not an issue. The computer has never moved from where it is, the RAM couldn't be misplaced...

One again, I know how a program runs and about the processes, I don't have a process running unless it is necessary!

RE: Major Problems with my computer
Sounds slightly similar to a prob I have had with mine a few times (still don't know the exact reason why).

It will lock up with a screen of bright colours, normally when running a 3D program. Only way to get out of it, is to turn the power off. If I just hit restart, I get a blank monitor. The strange thing about it is, that if I unplug the graphics card, blow all the connections, and plug it back in, everything is fine (sometimes for a week, sometimes for several months).

I would suggest checking all connections are clean, on graphics and memory...

I will do this sometime soon, do you think there are any precautions I should take before doing all of this?

..Did you read the rest?

Have you tried MEMTEST86 to find possibly corrupted RAM?

I read the entire thread through and through...

I think it is definitely a problem with the graphics card though, so I will be trying the graphics card options first... If that doesn't fix it then, I will try the other methods.

RE: Major Problems with my computer
Only the basic ones you do before playing around with anything inside a PC.

Make sure it is off (duh). Some people say it should be off, but left plugged in (so it has an earth). Some say unplug it completely. (Can someone clarify that one, coz Im not 100% sure of it myself?)

Touch something like a stainless steel sink (to lose any static you have on you). Don't wear anything static, like a fleece either...

Those are what I have been taught and what I practise. Depending on how long ago it was you last opened your PC, you might want to close your eyes and hold your breath when you blow ;). Its amazing how dusty they get.

Unplugging the graphics card and memory, and blowing the dust out shouldn't do any damage, but if your particularly worried, make sure your all backed-up.

Thats all I can recommend. Someone else may have something to add to that...

I don't see why it would be the video card.. The computer is freezing and not the video card. If its' the video card I don't think you'll get such errors.

The computer freezes sometimes, but then it won't display the monitor at all, the monitor is the annoying thing... The computer is on, and the startup happens, just nothing is displayed.
