ok so i'm smart enough to not install the msg plus sponsor anyway but i thought i'd have a rant about it anyway....  and the fact that it IS spyware and it IS annoying.

the toolbar for a start.... who wants a toolbar that brings up popups every now and then which you can't turn off. it's stupid and i can't believe a group of people who make such an excellent program would accept such a stupid sponsor....  havign the sponsor there makes people use msg plus less and less because of people installing it...

no sponsor = no FREE msgplus!

sponsor = adware

sponsor NOT = spyware

its been discussed a lot.... people may not like it bt its how this program remains free... i dont mind it, i dont have to install it, its really not a huge issue in my life... and don't see why it shud be in anyone else's who doesn't install it... why worry about what you don't have

but a good ole rant is ok and welcome to the forums

Dude, he get's paid, this is his job,(patchous),  That's how he earns a living.

why do we need one person per every 2 days come o here to rant about it? Can't anyone do this in a polite and proper manner? If you don't like the sponsor, don't install it. Its that easy. Just leave it!

A few bits of information about the sponsor:

Did you know only one person makes Messenger Plus!? His nick is Patchou (also his company's name) and he works full-time on this add-on.

Did you know that the sponsor is very easy to remove and it doesn't contain any spyware behaviors? Thus, it's adware.

As stated before, it's Patchou's only income. And it helps to pay his bills and most importantly, server costs (websites and the Custom Emotion Sound Database, which generates A LOT of bandwidth daily because of it's massive use).

You see, in the end, the sponsor is not 100% for Patchou. It's for us.
