hey ... my computer screen just turned its self off.. so i restarted the comp from the CPU and then 5 mins later it did it again ...just wondering if any of you guys would know what is causing it ?

Maybe you have your monitor set to turn off after 5 mins of non-activity.

Check this at Control Monitor>Power Options.

my comps mostly on from around 9/10 am till about 1/2/3 in the morning ...but this has never happened before

I don't know if this is the case but your pc/monitor might be overheating.

P.S. Don't Double Post.

Did it happen when you tried to run a certain program?
If you did, it may have tried to change to a resolution not supported by your monitor.

ur moniter is probably getting old and is going to like old tv's this happened to a friend of mine ...the moniter would turn off or go black on the screen and then go back then finally one day it was broke

but it just turned off it never came back on...i had to shuit down the comp from the button ..cause i couldnt turn it off from start >.<

First, if it just shuts down randomly, it's probably overheating; check to see if it's hot to touch, if so, buy a new monitor and ditch it, otherwise you'll have a fire hazard. Second, quit with the random !
