How come you can't send messages and appear offline? what's the point to appear offline if you can't send messages?

To see who is on without them seeing u on

Appear offline is simply appear offline....

You're offline to everyone but you can see whose online etc...

If you want an alternative, block everyone, then use stuffplug allow talking to blocked contacts.
