O.P. Weird VS.NET setup problems
OK, this is what I was talking about yesterday on the thread about VB.
when I'm installing VisualStudio.NET 2003 some weird 'ERROR' popup windows appear almost in the end of the installation procedure. Anyway with this problems the installation completes, then i try to run VisualStudio from the Start Menu and appears the same erorr message of the installation and the program won't start, i really want to learn how to use VB :'(

Also... this problems I'm not quite sure started when running XP Media Center or XP SP2, but I'm sure one of them is the problem, right now i can't change my OS because I have like 120 GBs of unburned things, and besides this don't post about making another partition and stuff... trying to not getting into this.

And also: The name of the error window is 'Microsoft Document Explorer'. Never heard about this soft.

HELP PLEASE!

When i try to run VS.NET:

EDIT: I've tried with CD version and DVD version (this is the one i have right now) and same prob, so it's not corrupt, damaged, of whatever.

Never seen that b4 and never heard of "Microsoft Document Explorer". From some google searching, i foundn that MDE is a part of VB.NET and the .NET Framework, so with that in mind, do u have the "original" Framework the comes with the install or do u have the the new BETA Framework ?

I have Microsoft .NET FrameforkFRAMEWORK(OMG...Framefork:rofl:) SDK 1.1, downloaded stright from Microsoft website, there wasn't any 'beta' around so i suspect it's not a beta.

Ok, so that shouldn't be the problem... so then what could it be? I read o a dev board that if u have a antivirus or firewall running during install tha might cause problems.

Just to be sure but...you are using a legal version do you?

If you are using an illigal version, I don't think you'll be able to install it. MS uses strange but good ways to protect VS.NET from being copied...

I've got a legal version installed and never got problems with it...

Agreed too, I was able to install this before on my computer. I changed OS and now I can't. I'll try to install the program today on another PC I have with XP Pro SP1 and see how it goes.
