O.P. Suggestion: Hide Contacts / Group
Hello. I would want this really much, since I don't talk to some on my contact list so much - but I still want them on my contact list. So I thought of this fine tool, MSG Plus!

On day-time I have just too many contacts online, and it's a bit annoying when I only need to talk to two or three.

It would be great if something like hide contacts / group would be added.
Then we could turn it on or off as we'd like. Like preferences for each contact or something. Something like "Desktop Contacts" in MSG Plus!

Anyone would like this?

I like the offline, online thing. If I could hide certain contacts, it would be great :) Not moving them to a group called hide..

Like, I have sorted some into groups for remembering them better.
Family, Friends, School, Ex, Internet, etc...

RE: Suggestion: Hide Contacts / Group
Well, MDX is supposed to hide the "Mobile" group for an instance, but it has never worked for me.
But I think it could be useful to be able to hide groups, I have 14 of them, counting the "Mobile" and "Offline" ones, they get too much of the main window space and I like the main window to be small enough so it doesn't take too much desktop space.
The thing is that I don't need to see the "Mobile" and "Offline" group because I don't use the SMS system nor the "Send e-mail" to offline people.

I think jannar85's suggestion is a great idea.

So you want something like Hide Offline Contacts but for the main contact list not just for desktop contacts?

Yeah that's right!
Hide any group we want in the Main Contact Window.

What is the use of having them inside a group (eg: school) if you don't want them visible in the first place? If you don't want to see them then either move them to a seperate group like DragonX suggested or remove them from your contact list (but still allow them in your allow list)...

And to remember contacts you can also use Messenger Plus!'s custom name feature...

then simply minimize that group....

I really can't see what the problem is with that. If you don't want a specific group to take space then minimize it...

And if you wanna "hide" only offline contacts then simply select/enable Contacts > Sort Contacts By > Group Offline contacts together and minimize that group...

--------------

Learn to use the available options in the Contacts menu of MSN Messenger and even the custom name feature of Messenger Plus!. There are many possebilities to do if you combine the already available options and features...

I'm thinking more by the lines of miranda (http://www.miranda-im.org/)
With that IM, we can customize the whole hide-thing. Hide contacts that appear away, etc.. It wouldn't be so hard to add that to the great messenger plus? Or..?

Their option-screen is like this:

"Hide offline" means to hide:
Offline, Online, Away, NA, occupied, Out to lunch etc..

And by hide, I'm not thinking of MSN's stupid grouping options.
But I'd see potential in getting this added. User-defined.
