Have you got "show display pictures" ticked in options?

To elaborate a bit more on what beamykitty said, the options you want to make sure you have checked are the folling.

Under Personal:
Show my display picture and allow others to see it.

Under General
Show display pictures from others.

RE: display pictures
I have the same issue. I have all these options enabled and the display pictures don't automatically show in the contact list. They only load when when I click the green icon to 'see this persons contact card' or when I start a chat.

I could understand that it has to retrieve the pictures for a first time. However, after restarting the pc (because I use my laptop @home and @work), the pictures are gone again.

I use messenger 7.5 in English with msgplus 3.61.145 and no other plugins. I plus, I have the preferences as follows:
- contact list > general options: all enabled
- contact list > custom names: fist enabled, other 2 disabled.
