O.P. Idea: Flashing Num Lock Indicator
Here's an idea for a plugin in case any developers are looking for them!

How about something that causes your num lock indicator light to flash when someone has sent you a message and you haven't looked at the window yet (i.e. when a conversation window is flashing on the taskbar)?

It sounds random, but it isn't, honest! When I'm at work I like to turn the monitor off as I find it less distracting like that. Trouble is, if someone then messages me I have no way of knowing it. I can't just turn my speakers on as it'd be a bit harsh on the people around me!

What do you think? As I say it's just a suggestion for a plugin - I'd have no idea how to program it myself!

Already suggested, thought about, and done...

see MSN LED notification --> New version 0.2.5 (31.Aug)

which is based upon:
* make a led blink everytime you get a msg
* Msn Flash - Make a led blink every time you get a msn

There was one in which the scroll lock light would blink when you are playing a game ??
What ever happened to that ...

It was suggested, that's all, see "Requet for a great simple plugin"...

PS: these are exactly the reasons why I always say: "search before posting" and "don't create new threads about the same stuff (especially when you knew there were other threads)". As you can see, there are many threads about the same subject and thus it is confusing for people to know which is exactly said and where... And if one searches, he probably wouldn't find all the related threads either, let alone read them all ;)

Clear instructions are on that website (in German though). Also you need the VB runtimes, as you can read in the threads. And the Windows SAPI as you can read on the linked website.

--------

PS: I don't garantuee that the plugin still works though...

Oops! Sorry, I honestly didn't think anyone would have thought of it before! Apologies for starting a new thread.

I'll give the plugin a whirl when I get back to work on Monday.

Thanks
