O.P. Speakers Question
OK I was wondering if anyone had experience with speakers...:P

The other day, I noticed my speakers on my computer were starting to pack in (dodgy connections and fiddling round with wires at the back etc) and decided that it was time for some new ones anyway (they ARE about 6/7 years old I think - I've had them since my first computer).

Anyway, seeing as I now have money  I decided to splash out a bit and look into 5.1 surround sound ones (I KNOW 7.1 exist, but I'd rather not go that far yet :P). But heres my question - if I go aheand and buy some, along with a 5.1 compatible soundcard, would it be possible to also connect my TV to them, and therefore use them for both TV and computer?

The TV itself only has a headphone output at the front, but it has one scart socket, which is plugged into the DVD player, which is also connected to my Xbox (the DVD player has a scart input). The DVD player has some seperate audio outputs however - I'm not fussed about normal TV audio not playing through the speakers, but could I use these outputs to have audio from DVDs and the Xbox play through the speakers?

I dont know if that makes much sense, but this diagram kinda shows what I want:

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

RE: Speakers Question
it will depend on the sound system you but
if it has a  small amp {sometimes part of a sub woofer} it will need to have enough INPUT ports to fit your pc and tv...if say it has 2 ..your pc has 1 and your tv has 1 then your covered! (y)
but!
if it has 1 then either your pc OR tv can we plugged i at any1 time (n)
