Hey guys,

Was using Messenger Plus! on my sister's computer with no problems. I decided to install it on my laptop so I could use it too. Only problem is that once I did it won't let me sign in anymore! I get the little box saying "Retry, Cancel or Help".

I've re-installed MSN Messenger, uninstalled Messenger Plus!, tried using a different user account and tried changing my password. I can safely say that it doesn't work for either my email address or my friend's.

Other things to note: When typing in my email address it's very slow and takes about 10 seconds to appear. It worked perfectly well the first time, and nothing has changed since then. I have MSN Messenger 7.5 and Messenger Plus! 3.

Any help would be appreciated

Check your internet connection... And the server status.

what version of 7.5 have u got?.. should have 7.5.0322?

I suggest using the troubleshooter.

Tools > Options > Connections > Connection Troubleshooter: Start

This thing truly bothers me.. I don't know any reason for that to happen.. expect if your pc isn't so good..

Service Status: All systems running

The connection troubleshooter found a problem with 'hosts', so I repaired it. Unfortunately this hasn't fixed the problem

The MSN Messenger version is 7.5.0311.

Thanks for the help so far guys, anyone have any more suggestions?

EDIT: I've just tried 7.5.0322 and that hasn't worked either. I've also tried re-uninstalling Messenger Plus! and there is one file I can't get rid of: MsgPlusLoader.dll - could that be the cause?

No: that's just because Alternate Hooking is turned on. Alternate Hooking works by loading that DLL into all processes, so in order to be able to delete it, you'll need to switch the hooking mode to Default and reboot.
