O.P. Undecided  Photoshop Help..
I think I kind of screwed my own self up..

What happened is this.. I was looking for new fonts to install..

I downloaded a pack which contains a whole big series of hot fonts.

Problem is that the pack contained 4800 fonts.

Now I don't know if the font number on my pc affects Photoshop in any way.. but I do know that it has been lagging like crazy, and take an age to load.. not to mention that when it finally opens, I cannot even do anything without it lagging every 1 sec. anyone knows how to fix this..? :S

RE: Photoshop Help..
actually this will make the computer slower:S especially on startup!!
i think when photoshop loads, it reads the fonts so it may affect !!
remove them, then try it back!!

RE: Photoshop Help..
Photoshop loads all fonts installed on your machine when the application starts. Loading 4800 fonts eats up a lot of resources. Not to mention that all those fonts are kept in memory until you quit Photoshop, thus the application becomes very slow.
There might be some workarounds for this, you could try searching Google.

Here's what Adobe says about optimizing performance in Photoshop. (link)

Use font management software and turn off the WYSIWYG font list

Your computer can slow down if there are too many active fonts on the system. Font management software allows you to deactivate the fonts you aren't using to speed up the computer. Turning off the WYSIWYG font preview list will also speed the processing of fonts in Photoshop.

To turn off the font preview:

1. Open Photoshop.

2. Choose Edit > Preferences > Type.

3. Deselect Font Preview Size and close Preferences.

Hope it helps.
