O.P. Undecided  DVD drive
Hey guys, problem for yas to help me with plzzzz.

After installing a new game, there is a component of the game that asks for the disc to be put in the drive....yet the disc is already there. After this...the drive appears to 'vanish' from the computer completely.

After borrowin a friend's DVD drive, the game started up great, and there was no problem at all.

Any1 got any ideas??

You can try reinstalling/updating drivers.
they may be corrupted

RE: DVD drive
Some old CD drives doesnt support some features the games has, for example, my Diablo II won't be read on a 52x CDROM drive i have, but on the other ones it will work, it's something as Alpha checking or alpha commands, I'm not quite sure, but this can help:

1) Download all the updates for the game, Diablo II updates made game work on that drive
2) Update firmware for the drive
3) If still not working reinstall all the drivers.
