Can you access it by the options menu to change the scheme or is it set like this now?

the options are right on top of the inbox panel. its righ next to 'options'

Delete your junk mail more easily. Simply locate the down arrow on your junk e-mail folder and click to delete everything in it. Clear out your deleted items folder the same way.

Pick your colors. Make the Mail experience look the way you want by selecting your own color scheme. Just click the colors link in the upper right hand corner.

Find your contacts with the greatest of ease. Start typing a name in the “Find in contacts” field, and a list of possible names immediately pops up. Then, just choose a name from this list.

Your in classic view. Go to "Options" -> "Your Account" (left hand bar) -> Click the option:  "Choose inbox layout: Windows Live Mail Experience or Classic Hotmail View " then "(Recommended) Use Windows Live Mail Experience ...".

As soon as I logged onto Mail it prompted me to pick what options I  wanted before i actually got to my inbox!

same - i like it even more now, the idea of reverting back to hotmail style is cool - im still unsure of which i like most - probably the WLMail style
the idea ofc olours and stuff is really cool also
