Well I have microsoft word for mac installed on this mac. But the file I had written at home, on a microsoft word 2003 (for pc) won't open here. Anyone has a solution?

Even tho this is about Word (Office) 2004 for Mac, it still might be helpful.

I also found Word 2004 MSKB Known Issues, maybe your problem is described inthere aswell.

Also if you open it in something like notepad or any text editor the plain text still should show for .doc files, I have found out. But this would be a last resort as you would need to copy and paste everything back over and it would be annoying

Tried to open it in "text editor" didn't work. It said the file was not recognised.

save it as a differnet file type?

I'd say so as well.

RTF is a good choice.
