O.P. Possible problem with Remote desktop
Hello there,

We are having a problem with 1 of our group's pcs. We are currently using this pc as a remote pc (Using Windows Remote Desktop). We connect to it wirelessly from laptop set in another room.

There is no real problem in the actually remote desktop, we can connect normally and work so fine. However when we disconnect the remote connection we are not able to login anymore using the portable and even by referring to the pc itself.

The error says

quote:
Logon Message
The system could not log on. The server authenticating you reported and error (0XC00000BB).
You can find more details in the even log. Please report this error the the system administrator.

It is not untill you restart the pc that we can login again.

Many thanks

Did you check the Event Log? :)
Start -> Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Log
YouTube closed-captions ripper (also allows you to download videos!)

Well yeah i'm sorry, umm in the event Viewer there are 3 categories. The Application, security & System.

I didn't know where exactly to look in, but however i tried get as much errors and messages as i can.

in the system i found an error that says

quote:
Remote access connection manager failed to start because it could not create buffer. Restart the computer. Access denided.

*take note that the error also accures when we come and try to login using direclty that pc not only using remote desktop.
*also take note as we also faced this error a while ago, i tried to limit my search by today's date.

I have also looked in the application category, but i haven't found and error or message related to login, they were about msn messenger and some other softwares.

The security category is empty
Many regards

Is this computer a member of a domain at a remote site?

What XP service pack level is it at (none, SP1, SP2)?

Reinstall SP1 (or go to SP2).  The RasMan error you posted is a known issue with corrupted SP1 installs (usually happens through use of System Restore or repair install).

I am not sure how it could prevent logon though, so you may have another problem besides that -- but let's start with fixing the one we know about.
