Actually, the search script doesn't recognize them at all.
I think that was a suggestion someone made.
The "half-sticky" (AKA "important") distinction exists so that important threads can be easily identified. That helps me avoid accidentally deleting them during mass pruning. Not every important thread can be sticky... that would be a mess.
Of course, lately I haven't been doing any mass pruning at all...
