O.P. Huh?  The New MSN Messenger 8.0
Is there a version of Plus compatible with MSN8.0?

I installed it then dl the latest version of plus & it's incompatible.  So I tried to uninstall it & go back to version 7.5 but I can't.  MSN 8 is a turd, no where to be found in the add/remove programs, i  even tried restoring my computer back to a week & still here is MSN 8!  I just cannot seem to get rid of this program no matter what I do!  I'll keep version 8 (hoping for a compatible version of Messenger Plus!).

If anyone thinks they might want to uninstall version 8, i highly reccommend you DO NOT DL the latest version!  After you do, you'll probably have to format your harddrive just to get rid of it.

Any suggestions?.... :S

yeh i guess so, i've had this problem before but no1 on the planet seems to know how to help.  I've tried repairing registry values, completely erasing the msn file folder & application data, even a full restore... & still.... it's here....  It better prove it's worthiness lol

Lol, it's good when you get used to it, I can't find any fault in it myself.

Good Luck anyway.

Download and run the Windows Live Messenger installer again. Once reinstalled, it should appear on Add/Remove Programs list. Remove it.

If that doesn't work:
Make sure WLM isn't running. (If it is, exit it)
You need to manually remove it.
To do this, go to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder called MSN Messenger.
Then download MSN Messenger 7.5 and install it.

Then on Saturday you can install WLM again with Messenger Plus! Live :P

Wouldn't she also need to remove old registrys as well - or would this not make any difference to the problem she is having?

Or to uninstall WLM, just re-run the installer :) And you can't install 7.5 anymore since 8.0 is public.

You can perfectly install 7.5 (after you've uninstalled 8.0 if you had that previously of course)...
