adsl and cable just work in different ways.

ADSL goes through your phone line down to the local exchange, Cable goes into a shared wire to the box in your street.

Two seconds of Google:

Yes but with with cable when lots of people people using the internet in your street at one time, you get a slower connection.

This doesn't happen with ADSL so there is a difference if you consider it from that point of view.

I use cable though and this doesnt hapen much. :P

RE: Broadband choices
If any of your ISP's support ADSL2+ technology then definitely go with that... a month ago i went from 1Mb/512Kb (ADSL) to 15Mb/1Mb (ADSL2+) with a new ISP and I can't be more happy with that... the cap is basically like when everyone went from dial-up to ADSL... the pricing is actually the same (additional features cost more of course)...

you wont regret it when you can download with more than 1,6 megabytes a second...;)
