What you want is something like a window open notifier.... They are no longer reliable so nobody feels like making one.

it is actually built into plus. follow these steps

Plus
preferances
Customize!
at side > Events Notification
Add
in the drop down select all users
click started a new chat
Next

Should do it!

That  only works after the contact talked to you, not before ;)

There is a lot of discussion around that theme already.
Anyhow, that is not possible only using the script engine.

It's not possible anyway... as I already said.... it's just like the window open notifier.... All it's doing is opening a connection to to the contact... and that connection doesn't tell you whether they opened a conversation window, looking at your contact card, or whatever else might trigger it. It's unreliable and isn't always right... It's possible to make... but most people don't want to make something that isn't going to give you decent results.

Stuffplug for the old messenger plus! did it - is there any way of doing that in this version? Or getting anything to do it?

But with StuffPlug for MsgPlus 3.6 it was working well for me, notify when someone opens a chat window, and before writing (if they write at all)....

a reason might be privacy considerations more than not reliable, as if someone opens a chat window then change idea.....
