O.P. regedit?
Well when i go to "run" and type "regedit" i get this screen below. It starts blank then after about 4 seconds it comes up with the error.

It has been like it ever since the first time i tried to use "regedit" ( i don't use it much ).

Does anyone know why i get this?

Thanks for the help in advanced!

RE: regedit?
Hi,

Your real regedit executable would be c:\windows\regedit.exe -- it's neither a .COM type file, nor is it ever installed in the system32 folder.

The .COM executable is not a legitimate Windows file, but something dropped by spyware or a virus, perhaps some variant of Alcan.a.  I'd suggest scanning your system thoroughly.

You can try typing the full pathname of the real regedit (above) and see if that works -- when you type just "regedit", Windows searches a numer of directories in a certain order and obviously finds the bogus file first.

Well, first of all, your screenshot shows where the COm file is. So go delete it.
