I have no idea what's going on.

I have 7 contacts on my desktop, always on top.
They are now appearing as 1's.  That is not their name, nor their nickname.

It doesn't correspond to any information relating to this user.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Known issue, read compatibility with MSNP14?.

A new version will be released this saturday night late, which will fix the problem.

Great to know! I have the same problem, but I think it's not an exclusive problem of desktop contacts, because I have only 2 desktop contacts, and I have much more contacts named as "1"  (about 7, 8) ...

aahhh good, I thought it was one of my scripts.

this happens on my online list (activity log) and also the flashes when people come offline it'll say ' 1 has signed off '

and my activity log says for example

but some say the full screen name
will the fix released soon sort these too?

It will fix everything related to this bug. It has to do with the new MSN Protocol and Yahoo! compatibility

yes .

great, thats the reason i was straying from trying live as i couldnt use plus and i like my little tweaks that i had with msn messenger.
