Access the ACPI driver (i think, the most logical...), once and a while, every 30 seconds fx? check the lid status and set away/online accordingly.

And maybe perform some other commands (lock computer, start antivir scan and so on...)

This depends too much on the laptop.  What would work for one wouldn't work for another.  Most of the laptops I've used go into standby when the lid is closed, cutting the net connection anyway.

normally you can set what to do on lid close in power management
Unfortunately you cant lock or make it perform commands....
