Okay i have numberous problems with wlm, error 80072745 etc, but realised that i cannot sign into yahoo, paltalk, windows messenger or any messenger programms.  I cleared cache, done all the necessary steps even sorted out the exceptions in firewall.  Somebody mentioned to me that it has something to do with openin up a port, is this correct. How do i do that.

This only happens when i log on with my network connection at work via the proxy server.

But when i sign on at home with same laptop via my 3g wireless connection it signs on fine. 

Opening ports won't help: the proxy will be the one blocking all your IM programs.

so how can i sort out via the proxy cos i have rights to log onto the server as administrator.  How do i allow messenger programms
