Extended is normal. In order to have a logical partition you need to create it inside an Extended Partition.

Not sure why you can't resize the partition tbh.

Exactly what are you trying to resize, and where to?

Hi Sam,

I notice the following in your screenshot:

1) C: and V: appear to be full (Size = Used).

Whether this is true or Partition Magic doesn't read them right I can't say, but it makes sense to me that Partition Magic refuses to shrink partitions it believes to be full.  That would probably have undesirable results.  :P

2) There appears to be no upartitioned space, so there is nowhere to expand the partitions to.

So, it makes good sense that the only thing you can do here is shrink D: (although it's hardly worth doing so, given it has less than 2GB free).  After you shrink D:, perhaps you could expand C: into the freed space.

What did you want to do, anyway?

Partition Magic will let you edit space for other partitions to make space for the one you want to resize.

My C Drive has 60gb free :) (V: has around 500mb thats why I want to resize the partition it so my Vista partition...taken from my C drive has more space...which would make my C drive space go lower :)

According to your own screenshort, Partition Magic disagrees.  That is likely part of the problem.

A quick Google search shows several people are claiming PM8 is not compatible with Vista.  I'd try booting your Windows XP installation and using PM under that.

This is XP :P (Media Center Edition)

I would never use Partition Magic on Vista :P
