I know that the lock and hide features have been merged in the new version of plus, but it was nice to have them separate.  Is there any chance they might return or is there a script that does a similar thing that i could use?

Sorry it was a spam post cause hosey isn't a good member... I don't believe they'll become seperate again... although it is a possibility... So now his post was deleted and yeah.

Actually... I just saw that you don't have to have a password to unlock it... deslect the "Ask Password to Unlock" option... and it should function very much like boss protection mode.... Because I don't believe you needed a password for boss protection mode.

The reason why they (the lock feature and boss protection) were merged is because they were almost identical. The only difference was that with boss protection you could hide all the messenger related windows, with the lock feature not. And with the lock feature you could set a password, with the boss protection not.

They wont be split again.

However heaving an option to not hide messenger related windows would be nice I guess (which is all what is missing from both merged features).

Although, if you simply want to lock messenger, I think there is also no harm done in hiding its windows; you wont be able to use them anyways unless you unlock messenger again...

The other thing i liked about it was that if u were only hiding it for a bit, then it didnt change ur status, so u could differentiate between how long u were going for.  but if its not coming back, i guess i'll just have to mourn its loss and get on with life :'(

This is still possible, simply don't tick the option to change the status when you lock messenger.

You don't have to tick the option to change your status.

But then you have to change it every time, rather than just having two different keyboard shortcuts

Why would you want more then 1 shortcut to unlock Messenger?
