i didnt get the error on monday but today, my HOST file looks like this at the present moment in time.

Take out those last two lines in the hosts file. This error number indicates either a firewall blocking access or the server beeing off. Stop using these workarounds honestly...if you done nothing to cause messenger not to connect chances are fairly big its a serverissue, these will resolve themselves. If you are in such desperate need of beeing online use Windows Messenger or Webmessenger at those times.

Windows mesenger will not work either, poeple who live near me are on and i have done noething

i get the same error, and when i unmodify the host file, and i get the other one the 80000013 or something like that

try changing 65.54.239.80 to 207.46.28.93
