hi guys whats the syntax for the irc formatting stuff. like to make text go bold etc?

i am sure that this has been answered on the forum somewhere as i remember reading it before, unfortunately like an idea i didnt bookmark it or print it and a search on the forums cant find it as i cant remember what the thread was called and i cant search "irc" as you need a minimum of 4 characters for each search word.

its probably also covered in the "messenger Plus 3 FAQ" but if you click the link to that it takes you back to www.msgpluslive.net so unfortunately i couldnt use that either. i did post my question in the messenger help channel on the chat room but nobodys talking to anyone in there so please dont moan about me posting this ok.

CTRL + B = Bold
CTRL + T= Italics
CTRL + U= Underline
CTRL + R= Format Panel shortcut

·&text = test
·@text = text
·'text = [s]text
·$4text = text(·$<colorcode><text>)[/s]

sorry maybe i was a little vague i had a fair idea about most of these shortcuts what i was after was the syntax etc. for example.

$ = ?

like what would i type code wise if i wanted to make my nickname bold using irc syntax as you cant use those shortcuts in nicknames or the squares that act as replacement characters.

But the easiest way to do it, without the annoying codes, is to type /nick in a conversation (followed by a space), then type your name with whatever formats you want, using these shortcuts:

Ctrl+B -> Start bold text
Ctrl+T -> Start italic text
Ctrl+U -> Start underlined text
Ctrl+K -> Start colored text
Ctrl+O -> Reset formatted text

Then you press enter and your name changes.

ok i thank for that, now it still doesnt help with what im trying to do as i know need help figuring out combinations. for example to use a background you use ·$9,1 which puts green text on blackground how to i make that green text on that black background bold? as ·$·#9,1 doesnt seem to be effective.

ok i see that now, is there a specific line up (order to follow) for example if you wanted to use italics aswell would it matter what order the bold and italics symbals went in as long as the both preceeded ·$ ? or would they have to appear in a certain order to work. this is now going past my present use of the codes but im sure theres plenty of people out there interested in knowing on the off chance.
