O.P. Open mail with Firefox
Yes yes, Stuffplug can do it, for MSN, but not WLM, and the new version has just been unofficially cancelled, Stuffplug 3 will most likely fade into obscurity under the weight of the 'net and I'm left with a plea.

I'm asking if anyone is willing to tackle a simple addon for WLM which would allow the Inbox/Mail notifications/etc to be clicked, and open in Firefox, or even another browser, because if I'm permanently stuck with IE for the rest of my time I just might Revert to 7.5, honestly, so, how about it people? =)

(No, can't do it myself, don't have the knowledge)
Go tell that long tongue liar
Go and tell that midnight rider
Tell the rambler,
The gambler,
The back biter,
Tell 'em that God's gonna cut you down

I don't much like automatic logging in and saving of passwords for email access, don't want anyone Stumbling into my mail. Thanks for the Rolling of eyes and all though, helpful.

What is this? Not what I asked, that's an alternative and slightly troublesome solution to just wanting to Click a popup and having it use my default browser.

Well I can't make the add-on so I offered a friendly alternative.

Well, grand, but I've been doing something like that for months, and it's annoying, which is why, hearing upon the death of Stuffplug, I came here to inquire.

Does anyone know if it's particularly difficult to do or?

Rolando who makes the popular Mess Patch says:

"Don't get you hopes up high. This can only be done during run-time, so it can't be done with a simple patch."

Also read: Opening links in default browser

Make Firefox my default browser
"There is currently no solution for Windows Live Messenger, but StuffPlug and the guys over at Mess.be are all working on it!"

Why quote that when they said they pretty much Aren't going to be developing it for a a few Goldfish lifetimes? I can't say I trust a site packed with gifs, strange scripts, and popup ads either, but hopefully it'll be legitimate, nice to know someone out there is at least trying.

*Bites lip* God...You know, I about had the urge to Kick some virtual teeth in for the five months until "Yeah, not gonna happen" finally got posted, "Be patient. Just wait.", ten billion times over, topics closed, people warned, silently I waited, I was patient, three months after "Oh My Gawt PUBLIC BETA" hit the headlines, and now it's essentially been docked.

So no, no thank you, patient is three silent months, by the time it gets done we'll have WLM 9.0.
