O.P. MSN Messenger Online Game Help
Hey guys thanks for checking this thread, i used the search button but could not find anything to help with my problem. I have a problem trying to play online games like checkers and bejeweled with my contacts. I used to play checkers all the time like 2 months ago and i havent played since then and today i went to play bejeweled and checkers and my friend said his loaded but mine did not load and came up with a white screen that says: the page cannot be displayed. i am puzzled at this point how all of a sudden over just 2 months of playing these games and i go to play them again and they wont work. any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using msn messenger plus version 3.62 and i am running windows ME. i do not have a norton firewall running, i am running the free avg virus program. i have tried disabling this and playing a game but it does still not work. like i said i am puzzled and any help would be much appreciated. and any other questions just ask me.

RE: MSN Messenger Online Game Help
Note (and why didn't anyone said this before?):

Those online games have got nothing todo with Messenger Plus!.

Messenger Plus! is not a replacement for Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger.

Messenger Plus! is an addon for Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger and/or Windows Live Messenger and only adds some extra features.

The games are part of Windows Messenger, MSN Messenger and/or Windows Live Messenger itself.

------

Thus this thread is also in the wrong subforum as this subforum only deals with Messenger Plus! related support. So, this thread is reported to be moved to the correct subforum "MSN/Windows Messenger".

No.

The problem might be that you've installed some new firewall or updated/changed the settings of your firewall (windows firewall, 3rd party firewall, etc). Or that you have some other internet security settings which block the games. All this can be done without your knowledge by the use of some security tools or even by applying some updates or fixes. Even disabling some security tool might not mean that block is lifted.

I often get that error, and some other faults, usually just starting the activity again a couple times works...

RE: MSN Messenger Online Game Help
Possible fixes include, but are not limited to:

  1. Make sure your Windows system time is correct.

  2. Reregister softpub.dll using the command regsvr32.exe:
    In Windows: Start > Run > regsvr32 softpub.dll

  3. Remove any Internet Explorer proxy server settings:
In Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings... > Untick "Use a proxy server for your LAN"

(note: close Messenger completely before doing anything)
