O.P. winpopup plugin for messenger live?
I have kopete as my messenger in my linux boxes, and for it, I have winpopup plugin, so when I'm logged in, I have list of hosts running messenger service/samba server on my network, and I can send them a winpopup message from inside kopete. Or Kopete shows message if I get one..

I've been looking for such plugin to Windows Live Messenger/Messenger Plus Live for quite a while now without finding one.. I was just wondering, couldn't someone write one who is capable of writing such addons?

Shouldn't be that hard.. Actually kopete doesn't propably see if host is up, it appeared to my contact list when I sended a test message from my XP and has been there ever since, even when my xp machine is off-line..

It just would be cool to add hosts to my contact list and use messenger for sending winpopup messages in my LAN, it propably could use windows's NET.exe if coding similar features into plugin would be hard..

So propably hardest way would be receiving those messages, that would mean that it requires windows's own messenger service to be shut off, so it won't reserve port for those messages and a small server which would open port and understand how messages come in and then show them in chat list..

On this page is information about how it's done for kopete:
