O.P. Open a popup when someone opens a convo window

Hi, im still using MSN Messenger 7.5 and havent downloaded Messenger Live and Messenger Plus! Live yet. But does this have the feature as, Open a popup when someone opens a convo window with me.?

The popup looks like this (many of u may have seen it)

If it doesnt, can i still download this plugin?

this is impossable to do due to the MSN protocol i am sorry.... the popup would come up at random times... so this cannot be done

No it does not. But there are various plugins that can do that for you. Such as this one: Live Notifier. There are a couple more out there, just do a search in this forum for it. Alternatively MessengerDiscovery Live has this option aswell.

StuffPlug has removed that feature a while ago so you won't be able to use it on the plugin.

As for this its fine with me of what the plug in is as long as it does this job i really looking for

When MSN Messenger 7.5 came along with contact cards and the ability to see your contact's display pictures in your contact list, Microsoft changed the MSN Messenger protocol to accomodate these new features.

They made it so that a connection is made between each person's computer when someone downloaded a person's display picture so it could be viewed in the contact window or when the person's contact card was clicked.

This connection was causing StuffPlug to give false alerts of a person opening your conversation window.

There is no way for stuffplug to determine a genuine conversation window opening connection and one merely downloading a person's display pic off their computer.

This is not something that can be worked around.

Thanx NanaFreak.

Well what i did was, to make sure to see if its working properly or not, i signed in from my other mail add from my other computer and openned a convo window to see. And it actualy showed me the popup on my computer.

Well it would, because that is opening a session. But I think you'd find that it will also show a popup if you opened the contact card of your account on the other computer as well...
