O.P. SATA 2 in my motherboard?
I have an MSI 865 Neo2 P.  It is capable of handling SATA drives.  I am looking at buying a SATA 2 drive.  Is this going to work in my motherboard?  Im guessing the are backward compatible but not sue.  Also will it just be an easy plug and go or will I need to set it up some how when installing?  Aprreciate amy fedback

RE: SATA 2 in my motherboard?
sata2 drives will work on sata motherboard.

Sata2 drives have a jumper type thing over two pins at the back which limits them to 1.5gb/s (sata speeds), when you take that off it lets the drive go to 3gb/s (sata2 speeds). Just leave that on and it should work fine.
