O.P. Film Help - Cartoon And Real Action (space jam sort of)... easy?
how easy would it be to include this? i would love to include a sort of space jam/who framed roger rabbit kind of thing in my media studies project (children's TV)

anyone else have any other tips? we're using iMovie and an emac smething or other...

thanks :)

EDIT: also, does anyone know how to have a frame on the camera (edited on)... like you can get on some mobile phones... because id really like to have a title screen with some videos playing in selected areas in the background.

like the chucklevision intro found on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdJQvASz1hs

:)

you need a blue/green screen for the live action part. Most upper-end video programs will allow you to set the green or blue as a transparent section of the frame

another option is to manually edit the live action frame-by-frame, convert it to a still, edit out the background, and paste the still onto the frame of the animated. This will require much more work, but doesn't require any fancy equipment.

I know for sure that Adobe Premiere can, as I have used it before. If you have access to a Mac (which I recommend for editing any kind of video), get Final Cut and use that.

Hmm, looks like Video Edit magic can do it too. I have used this program before, and it's pretty easy to use. There's also a tutorial HERE

Those effects seen on the link you provided (Chucklevision) was most probably done on After Effects. I've done that sort of stuff before just playing around with stuff.

You've seen Minority Report? Well the bits where the TV screens are floating in the air and Tom Cruise is moving them around with his hands, I've done that. All it takes is some footage, and a bit of 3D work.

Keep looking for tutorials and just mess around with it. That's the best advice I can give you.
