Bump! I just uninstalled Avira and installed AVG Free version because I read a lot about it here on the forums. I'll give it a try to see how good it fits my needs. Until now I'm very satisfied .

So my question: How to scan the files here? What parameter do I insert in WLM?

like before: read the documentation and help files, or visit the website of the program.

I visited the site and I found a way . I now want to know if somebody else uses this line

"C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\avgw.exe" /SE

It not then what do you use because this one works for me.

I found this on the support forums for Antivir

This is the command you needed for antivir:

C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avscan.exe /GUIMODE=2

I've tested it out it works

The thread also said that GUIMODE=0 does the scanning invisibly

On a side note however: antivir has a higher virus detection rate than avast! or avg...antivir picked up a threat that avg had missed for months! worked its way into system restore too

Please always read threads before posting....

Especially if you're just going to post something which was already explained and said before, and especially in an old thread....
