O.P. Intel Chipsets
I got a new pc recently which has an Intel DG965RY motherboard. I am using a graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS) and yet the Intel chip set is taking part of my system memory.
I've tried tinkering with the bios settings to no avail. I'm not using the chip set and still its using my memory. Any way to disable it to free this memory?

Yes i did try googling several times in the past few weeks. I don't need to say that i was unsuccessful cause if i wasn't, i wouldn't really be posting this thread, now would I? :P

EDIT: After a few more things, its 99% confirmed that the chip set isn't drawing the memory. I have also tried updating the BIOS so that isn't the problem.

RE: Intel Chipsets
My guess is...Search your BIOS for Intel QST (Quiet System Technology) and turn it off...(set it to other fan-control mode or something)

O.P. RE: Intel Chipsets
I swear i had seen that option somewhere the first time i booted my new system. I can't find the words QST now O.o An online search didn't do much good either :(

I want my ram  Seeing 0.98 gb of ram isn't as cool as seeing 1gb of ram :(
Any suggestions?

O.P. RE: Intel Chipsets
I just turned EIST on and it dropped to 0.97gb. Switching it off didn't give me my ram back :dodgy:
I have lost 26mb of ram. This is getting really dodgy.
Someone HELP. :(

Mnjul: There isn't any QST option in my bios.

Merge my 2 earlier posts but leave this one to bump the thread up :)
