O.P. Request - Escape key script
Hewwo people!

So I am a World of Warcraft addict... if any of you guys play the game, you know that when chatting, pushing the escape key deletes what you had typed and that wasnt sent. Annnnnd well, i got the bad habit of pushing my escape key to try and do the same in Messenger, and then I feel very stupid for not thinking about it, when I see my chat window close -_- SO! I am looking for a script that would simply use the escape key as trigger that would delete everything i would have typed and that hadnt been sent.

Help the poor WoW addict that I am regain faith in my use of Messenger!

Yours truly,

Fraisie the nub.
So, Fraisie.net is empty atm. I\'m trying to come up with something cool to put on it, and I will!

Thanks, but that's not really what I mean :)

I want a script that would do the following: when I would push Escape, I dont want my chat window to close, I just want to delete what I had typed and that wasnt sent yet :)

RE: Request - Escape key script
I suppose you want it similar to this just that instead of using a command, use the Esc key instead I would assume?

I dont want everything that has been said to be deleted: just what was in the "Type your message here" window and that wasnt sent yet :)

Escape can't be detected by the OnEvent_ChatWndKeyDown function so it might have to be a hotkey (and even then it might not be possible). I think it's because Esc is a reserved key that is mainly used for OS functions

Here you go Fraisie (L).

I can't guarantee it works I am at work lol.

I hope you have fun testing SendTo and SS4 when I submit it for the contest ;).

Script pack didn't work.

Tested: Doesn't work

I already tried that method, but when you press Esc, Plus! doesn't trigger the event, probably deliberatley so that scripts can't interfere with normal Windows functionality

Isn't this the a similar problem to the "/clear" command anyway? From memory hasn't it got somethiung to do with the way conversation windows are handled in Windows Live Messenger, thus not allowing you clear the conversation area without having to close the whole window?

Fraisie is not taking about the chat history. She is talking about where you type your message.
