I'd go for intel.

my E6700 is awesome.

While my AMD Athlon X2 is really good, Intel Core 2 Duo is supposed to be way better than it.

Core 2 Duo kills AMD X2.

Intel. It only has one major problem. Intel release a new type of processor every 6 months, and a quad core is expected to arrive very soon. You will find in a few years your processor may be outdated.

However this is a factor which can't be changed really, so your best off going for the Intel Duo Core 2, which is more refined and manages power much better than the standard Intel Duo Core .
