Is it possible to show kb/s when you are sending or receiving files? I think just "x kb remaining" doesn't tell much. Messenger is quite slow here in Finland. when tranfering files. I have 2/512 bandwidth, same as all of my contacts have here. Is it just for us?

*2048/512

I don't think the kb/s graph would be quite accurate seeing that I almost never get my full connection speed out of messenger and the transfers freeze quite a few times..

A speed rating would probably have to be added to Messenger itself.

Yes, a speed indicator would be nice.
The slow speeds have nothing to do with your living in Finland. This phenomenon with slow and even pausing Messenger transfers will occur anywhere that Messenger is unable to establish a direct connection between the sender and receiver. You'll notice that Messenger usually works just fine for LAN file transfers since the signal doesn't endure network address translation, firewalls and what not.

Anyway, try using the File Transfer Plus script. Both the sender and receiver will need it. It will give you optimal speeds (even in Finland;)) and a speed indicator if you manage to set it up properly.
No, I didn't search before
posting. Don't bother asking.
