What software does she use for that?  Typically, voice doesn't require much bandwidth, which makes me wonder if that is even the problem...  How fast is the shared connection?
Sorry, I didn't see your post before. :-/

She's using WLM. The connection is being shared via a LAN, so she gets all the data very quickly.

It actually seems to have worked, or maybe it didn't and I didn't realize. She said she just listened to a song via a conversation and it was fine.

So I've told her to let me know when she starts another conversation again, so I can be prepared to see the difference.

For now, however, since I installed Netlimiter I haven't had a lag.

Voice call quality can adapt to available bandwidth. So, if you have a 100000/100000 kbps connection, the voice might use 200/200 kbps, but if you only have a 100/100 kbps connection, then the voice will make do using 90/90 kbps only.

Also, things taking a century to load might be caused not by having no download bandwidth left, but only no upload bandwith left, and just freeing up a small amount is all that is needed.
Yes, thus I limited both upload and download. I'm not sure if I've done it right, so I'll be making a few tests.

Thanks.

Hack, hack, hack!
