My Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 eats Pentium D's for breakfast.
So I go for C2D's hands down

Why don't you save up for the new AMD X2 6000+ that's just came out? It'll kick both of those CPUs asses.

My new PC has a Dual Core and I love it, but I can't compare with other CPU's...

Intel Pentium Core Family > AMD
That's my opinion. Buy whichever you think it's reasonable.

Considering that my CPU (C2D E6600) can beat the FX-62 in benchmarks and how huge the price difference is, it's one hell of a deal.

Well my C2D E6700 pwns my old P4 and beats my friends PD i'd say C2D.
