First of all, I searched, but 'dvd' is to small to search on and Vista, well yeah 8 pages of threads so...

I can't play a normal DVD in Vista? What's going on... (vista business)

My immediate guess is the DRM is getting in the way. Other than that, you may be missing the correct MPEG codec.

DRM is disabled... I read about the mpeg codec, but microsoft leads me to a site that says ultimate has dvd playback...

Disabling DRM may be the problem...

tested; is not the cause

i could play ripped and real dvds in the media center, havent tried in wmp or any other program

i dont know what to suggest if you are using buisness...

If it works in WMC, it'll work in WMP.

Business doesn't include WMC
