Firewall issue, 2 reports with the same firewall, definately the firewall is not allowing Windows Live Messenger to connect through (Messenger Plus! would have nothing to do with it).

I've just uninstalled Shaw 2.0 and connected my computer directly to the modem.  So far everything is fine so far, so yea it might have been the firewall program

I'm using Zone Alarm, same thing happens when it is turned off

I've used Zone Alarm, but I didn't have that problem, I just couldn't see other people's DP So I uninstalled it. Using Outpost now.

Zone Alarm controls everything, kind of annoying.

Well I re-installed and still have the issue, and I do not have a hardwear Firewall. I guess I'll call Tech Support tomorrow. If I get it fixed I'll post.

Try updating it, if that doesn't help try uninstalling it and see if it helps.

Well I got an update from my security provider, and now messanger does not disconnect anymore since then.
I left it on one night, and since I have messenger Plus! I saw in my event viewer that nothing happened,

updating hasnt changed anything >.<
