I know some jscript but no php and I was wondering if someone would create a script that would read from a MySQL database and put the string into my msn name or personal message(doesn't really matter)

i'm busy with it, just give me a few more days, i'll let you know when it's finished

Will i be able to use my own Database?

this is my idea (just need to work it out):

there's a script in your MPL, which checks a website every 15 minutes, and uses the webservers response as your name/PM (i can't make config screens in Plus, if you can, maybe we can work together?).

the webpage is a php file which extracts a string from the database, which you fill in the way you want...

got the point?

If you need a designer for you config screen or something else, just PM me, love to make nice, simple and clean userinterfaces. And if you need some help with script to (Jscript or a simpe php system...) you can contact me too. Love this idea, would be great to let users set your Nickname via a web interface .

Maybe a good idea to also support personal message?

i planned to do both (personal message AND nickname), Jscript knowledge should be enough, PHP knowledge is excellent

just another idea: allow people to register on some site and make them able to change their nickname and personal message remotely?

i'll let you know when i need a config-screen, then i'll send you my script and you can play with it...

now going to bed, tomorrow school and then i'll be scripting

i like the original idea with out the registering

i need the following to integrate into the script:

a config screen where the user can make some settings, like the server path (where he/she puts the php script), how often the script should update the name/personal message, an option to disable updating while in a specific status (like online/busy) etc...

could you send it to me and tell me how to read out the variables from those settings?
