O.P. Tongue  New Speakers
Hence the thread title, I'm getting NEW CRAP SPEAKERS to replace the EVEN CRAPPIER ones I don't use very much because I have headdies.

Which is more worth it?

Logitech R10 2.0 $22AUD
or

Soloman WS-602 2.1 $25AUD

Personally I like the second ones, but I'd like to know what you think is worth paying for.

EDIT: added links so you'll maybe have a better perspective :P

I like logitech,  i dont know anything about those second speakers. Check out some online reviews, but a $3 difference will probly just come down to your preference.

Soloman, you seem to be getting a better deal for what their is. However there may not be support for programs like vista etc...
Logitech are good and have good support.

To conclude it, if you want an adventure go for the solomans if your going for reliabilty then go for the logitech.

Also I'd reccomend looking for reviews on the net on both of them :)

I don't have Vista and my future doesn't hold anything window-shaped for now. At the moment it keeps saying "XP".

The Soloman speakers seem pretty kewl in the end. Alright, off to the nearby computer store on Saturday...I've always wanted a subwoofer (always been 2.0 or headdies...)

To the Google...

EDIT: Couldn't find reviews on Soloman speakers (but I just KNOW they're gonna be good...) or (this surprised me a fair amount) the Logitech speakers.

Now that is funny.

RE: New Speakers
If you have the space to put the subwoofer, then take Soloman for sure... comparing the specs, they ARE better speakers by far.

PS: http://www.google.be/search?q=%28Soloman+%7C+solomon%29+WS+602

Logitech R10:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/detail...173,CONTENTID=9817
Total Power Output : 4 W RMS
Left & Right Speaker Output : 2 W RMS each
Frequency response: 70Hz - 20kHz
Dimensions (H x W x D): 9" x 3" x 3.5"
Retail price:  $14.99 USD // $18.53 AUD
(PS: these are logitech's cheapest and lowest quality speakers btw)

Soloman WS602:
Total Power Output: 10 W RMS
Satellite Speaker Output: 2.5 W RMS each
Subwoofer Output: 5 W RMS
Frequency Response Subwoofer: 50-200Hz
Frequency Response Satellite: 150-18 kHz
Cone Dimensions Woofer: 3" High Power Woofer
Cone Dimensions Satellite: 50x90mm Full Range
Dimensions Subwoofer (H x W x D): 210mm x 200mm x 210mm
Dimensions Satellite (H x W x D): 145mm x 88mm x 75mm

If you want to stick to the brand Logitech, buy the R20 speakers (which are better quality 2.1 speakers than Soloman's WS602:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/detail...173,CONTENTID=9819
http://www.midinet.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=66559 (<= cheapest online store I could find in ausie for those speakers, has apparently an extremely fast delivery and many good reviews)

PS: cheapest 2.1 speakers in ausie I could find: http://www.hboutlet.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=27152
don't shoot me if quality is low though :p

it isn't a sound card, they are speakers... ;)

Speakers may come with windows drivers, but those are just to "optimize" (read: distort) the sound. You don't need them at all and in almost all cases (for normal desktop speakers) they don't do anything which standard basic windows drivers for a sound card can't do already.

Moreover, the sound card drivers are way more important.
