So did or didn't it work? I'm detecting it did work but I don't want to jump to conclusions just yet.

log into to what though? Messenger? Messenger Plus!'s Preferences? What password...saying "to log in" doesn't say too much :P

Use safe mode again to change it ;) (Safe Mode -> Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts)
