O.P. Huh?  How to hide program from "add remove programs"
Okay so the thing is i need to install halo on my laptop, and my sister keeps deleting it or uninstalling it from add remove programs. Is there  a real way to hide it form add remove programs.
Valspy says go to regedit and delete some strings, but i have no idea where to go after regedit. Is there a power toy that could do this thanks. Ive tried telling my parents and my sister to stop but she doesnt listen.

Try this: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article05-009
YouTube closed-captions ripper (also allows you to download videos!)

http://random.menthix.net/MyUninstaller.exe

- Run that tool
- Find the program you want to hide
- Rightclick it and choose "Open Entry in RegEdit"
- Delete the registry folder from this item (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<PROGRAM>)

EDIT: What Mike said :).

Okey, here is a short tutorial on how to do it (not the quickest way, but it's more simple that editing the registry, and also safer).
1) Download and install CCleaner.
2) Open CCleaner, go to Tools (on the menu left on the screen), choose Uninstall (should be selected by default), find the program (Halo) in the list and click Delete Entry. The effect is the same as doing it using regedit.
3) Uninstall CCleaner (if you want, it's kinda useful).

Hopefully this helps :)

Delete entry should be for the specific purpose - deleting it from the Add/Remove programs list. I haven't used it in a while, I guess I should have tested it myself.

Anyway, Microsoft has a KB article on it here, which is the same method as Matty posted but with more detailed instructions. If you don't want to mess with the registry, I did find a small, free program which seems to do just what you want.

Hi,

Try Winfilter (http://updownsoft.com). It can help you hide control panel so that you can keep others away from "Add and Remove Programs".

I was really impressed by its profile feature (it help me switch system configuration easily and quickly).
It also include the following features:
    hide drives and files
    hide start menu icon
    hide program shortcuts
    hide desktop icons

To know more detail, please check their website.:D
