O.P. Lock messages on k800i
Anyone know a way to lock the messages and file manager with a password? Maybe with an application?

I dont want things that lock seperate files though, thanks.

Nope, sorry :(
This is only possible on W800.
YouTube closed-captions ripper (also allows you to download videos!)

K800 is not a Symbian phone.
Java is not as powerful as Symbian.

A java application could easily be bypassed by keeping the back key pressed for a few seconds, and select "Close" on the menu that pops up.

Lame. This should be an included security feature.

Motorola phones are crap and do nothing but crash, reset and lag, but they could do the lock feature right... :(

Just another reason phone companies should open source their phones. Just about every phone has some sort of broken behaviour that would be so easy to fix! Like my fathers Nokia, which can be unlocked without sliding open the button drawer thing. Every time he sits down it turns the mp3 player on at full volume or calls someone.
was put impeccably into words at DebianDay for me last Saturday, by Knut Yrvin of Trolltech - adults try something once, fail, and then are like "ffs this doesn't work". Children try, fail, and then try again, and succeed - maybe on the second, or even fifth retry. But the thing is that they keep at it and overcome the problems in the end.
