O.P. Shocked  HELP!, cant install vista over ubuntu
i decided to scrap ubuntu for vista, but when i go to select clean install and it tells me what partition i want to install on, but i only have 1 but it says it windows vista cannot install because the drive has to be formatted in NFTS (or something like that :P) any ideas?
Also i tried to format with the vista disk as well, doesnt work =/

EDIT: deleted the partition in gparted, installing now, will report when install :)

EDIT 2: Its working now :D

Is Ubuntu the only OS currently installed on the computer?

BTW duck, I had problems with Windows + GRUB too. Windows takes an extra boot to realise that it doesn't own the MBR. I mentioned this in my post here for new Linux users, and suggested you get a Super Grub Disk, which will fix the problem.

EDIT: PS, what error did you get?

was put impeccably into words at DebianDay for me last Saturday, by Knut Yrvin of Trolltech - adults try something once, fail, and then are like "ffs this doesn't work". Children try, fail, and then try again, and succeed - maybe on the second, or even fifth retry. But the thing is that they keep at it and overcome the problems in the end.
